Travelling the top Mountains of Island Rhodes

Furthermore, on the top of the mountain one can find the ruins of an old temple that was dedicated to god Zeus.

Mountain Akramitis:

The Mountain Akramitis has the second highest altitude in Rhodes. It has an altitude of 850 m and is covered by pine trees. Access to this mountain is possible on foot like Ataviros Mountain.

If you make it to the top of the mountain, you get to see spectacular views of the island. You can capture the beautiful sights of this place in your cameras.

Prophitis Ilias Mountain:

Prophitis Ilias Mountain is a forested mountain with an altitude of about 800 meter. More or less in the middle of the Island just next to the Apollona town, this mountain is located.

The mountain seems to be covered with trees of Cypress and Calabrian pines. Furthermore, here you can find a variety of flora, floor flowers like endemic, cyclamens, anemones, rare white peony and different kind of orchids.

Once can find snakes, lizards and a variety of butterflies on this mountain too. Birds like coocoos, honey buzzards, long legged buzzards and woodlarks are found abundantly on the Prophitis Ilias Mountain.

Mountain Tsambika:

Mountain Tsambika is situated on the eastern side of the Rhodes Island and has an altitude of about 350 m. The monastery of Panaghia called the Virgin lies on the peak of the mountain.

Mountaineers love this place too as the more you go up the more stunning the views get of the surrounding areas. You will find a lot of peace and serenity at the top of the mountain.

Philerimo Mountain:

Another famous mountain in the Rhodes Island is that of Philerimo. Mountain with its lush green landscape is located at a height of280 m.
