The second person in the room is only $600 for a spa package of 7 nights. The 220 room resort is known for providing value at reasonable prices: $1299 double / $1537 single for 7 night spa packages. This popular package includes all meals (calorie controlled), 21 personal treatments with organic ingredients, tennis and golf lessons, a well equipped gym, 2 pools, lighted tennis courts, daily walks, fitness classes etc. And 16% taxes. It does not include gratuities.

Along with cool prices, comes cool summer weather: Ixtapan sits in the Sierra Madres Mts. at 5400 ft. and is a mere 65 miles from Mexico City. Temperature range in the Summer is 60-80.

Hotel Ixtapan Spa and Golf Resort is a 60 year destination resort located in the charming town of Ixtapan de la Sal, a mineral springs source since 1850, and today the vacation home for affluent Mexicans. The resort is known for its comprehensive spa and golf packages, which sell for 1/4 of what one would pay North of the Border.

Transfers can be booked from Mexico City and Toluca Airports. Gratuities are extra. A bonus is that fuel surcharges on flights to Mexico are among the lowest.

Recently Ixtapan opened a 5 star Holistic Spa, which offers optional services at 1/4 of US rates. These range from $76-$190- the latter for a heavenly 100 minute Balinese Hot Clay Treatment.
